Located in the heart of West Virginia, Braxton County is conveniently situated along Interstate 79. Braxton County businesses are located within 500 miles of 60 percent of the United States population, enabling them to reach their markets quickly, efficiently and within a reasonable budget. The county is located within one hour of the state capitol, and one to two hours from other major urban areas of the state.

The intersection of two major highway systems is located in Braxton County. Interstate 79 is a major north-south transportation corridor providing direct access to the ports on the Great Lakes. In Morgantown, I-79 intersects with I-68, a link to most major arteries on the eastern seaboard. Forty miles north of Morgantown I-79 connects with I-70, which runs through the Midwest and ties in with all major highway networks in the northeast. In Charleston, I-79 intersects with I-77 and I-64, opening the area to the south and Midwest.
The county is also the northern terminus for U.S. Route 19, or Appalachian Corridor D, which has recently been upgraded to a four-lane highway. U.S. Route 19 connects I-79 and I-64/I-77 at Beckley.

Air Service
The Braxton County Airport is a general aviation facility. Its 4,000-foot runway is capable of handling light twin-engine aircraft. The airport offers self-serve fuel facilities, a modern pilot’s lounge, and an AWOS for pilots.
Major airline service is provided at North Central West Virginia Airport and Charleston ‘s Yeager Airport. At Yeager Airport direct flights are offered by American Airlines to Charlotte, Washington DC, and Philadelphia, PA. United Airlines offers direct service to Chicago, IL. Direct flights through United Airlines to Washington Dulles and Chicago, IL are offered at North Central West Virginia Airport. Sanford, FL, Destin FL, and Myrtle Beach destinations are offered by Allegiant.
